Most types of chemotherapy induce baldness within 24 days of the first infusion. Often times, this is a challenging reality women face quite suddenly. Adjusting to one’s new appearance can be trying and disconcerting, while all identifiable features such as hair, eyebrows and eyelashes fade and remain absent for nearly a year.
Wigs can be very pricey; therefore, not accessible to many financially disadvantaged women in need. And, most insurance companies do not cover them.
WIG OUT is committed to helping make the cancer journey less stressful and ultimately restoring any self-confidence lost along the way.
